Amazing how fast things change

Less than ten days ago I was up to my armpits (literally) in snow and ice and as if someone threw a switch winter has almost completely vanished. There are small areas of ice pack on the ground where the sun hasn't fully melted them away yet, but the snow drops and crocuses are blooming and the leafy vegetation of Irises, Day Lilies, Daffodils etc are growing in leaps and bounds. The buds are starting to open on the Lilacs and the tree lines are once again appearing fuzzy with the budding of leaves. Of course there's the opposite side of that as well where I'm cleaning all the debris from the ice storms off the lawn and gardens, but winter is fading for another year.

Majel Roddenberry passed away

According to several sites Majel Roddenberry passed away Thursday morning. The original Star Trek is pretty much responsible for my interest science fiction and fandoms as it lead me to know there were others like me out there. As much as the internet has opened up all new venues for fans of just about everything I really miss those early days when finding a like-minded fan was so much more of an event. Perhaps that’s why I never warmed up to most of the newer Trek stuff as I did to the original and best of them. (LA Times obit - [link])

Pre Christmas Update

So I finally started posting stuff. This is easier than I thought it would be. I'm slowly scanning and organizing all my art (way back to a piece I did for my Grandmother when I was 11 so consider yourself warned!) Today will be a good day to work on that if we have power as we are expecting a BIG snow storm later and the state still does not have power 100% back from the ice storm last week.

Post Thanksgiving Update

Another holiday over and another Black Friday shopping spree under my belt. I did okay but compared to years past only mildly so. It seems the deals on big, big ticket items are growing but not the little things like DVDs, cloths, etc. Most of the deals to be had there were pretty much the same as prices coming or prices already experienced. But I do now have the new Hulk movie to watch.

My how time flies. I just noticed I've been here over a year now and haven't posted anything. I'll have to fix that real soon. Anywho... A generic you're welcome to all those who've sent notes for the watches and faves. My online time plus the dreaded dial up internet still is very limited so I haven't been able to respond to everyone. There are an amazing number of talented people here and I couldn't possibly hope to see everything there is to see or even want to see.
